Cleveland T-Frame and Classic Putters

Cleveland is one of the most popular golf club manufacturers found on courses today. They are used by high and low handicap players, and even many of the top professionals. Their putters are a unique combination of quality and affordability, with most of their models well under $100. Why would you want to spend that much money on a putter when you can find a cheap model for under $20? I used to ask myself the same question, all while I was struggling mightily with putting. One of my golfing partners recommended that I buy a quality putter, which of course I resisted at first. However, I got a great deal on a new TaylorMade Corza Ghost and I’m hooked. The club goes through the ball much more solidly and my putts are much better.

Now, I love my Corza Ghost but it is an expensive putter. If I hadn’t found such a good deal I was going to buy a Cleveland BRZ putter. I have heard nothing but good things from these putters and they won’t break your wallet either. Cleveland has a great reputation and I know many golfers who have their clubs in their bag. They have several putters to choose from, all being fairly similar in design. Here’s a rundown of what they have to offer and several reasons why they are one of the best values in terms of high quality clubs you can find.

Tips For Hitting Your Golf Irons

Hitting solid iron shots is not something that comes easy to the beginner golfer. It’s actually something that many players will struggle with from time to time. It’s important to let the club do the work for you and just focus on making contact in a correct manner. Here’s a brief list of the things you can do to hit your irons solidly so the ball flies the correct distance.

  • Strike the ground with the bottom of the golf club. Many players will try to use the edge of the iron which is not correct, you must use the bottom of the club. You want the club to work off the bottom and strike the ground before the golf ball.
  • Let the iron work in the dirt. When you do this correctly the angle of the club will be correct, which will elevate the ball for flight. Basically you want to let the club do what it was designed to do.
  • Ball placement is extremely important for a successful iron shot. If the ball is too far forward you will strike the ground too soon and hit a fat shot. If it’s too far back you will likely alter your hands during your swing to make solid contact. This will cause a miss-hit. You want the ball close to the center of your stance or maybe just slightly left of center for a right handed golfer.
  • Let the club tap down into the ball. As long as the iron comes down and catches the ground the ball will go up in the air.
  • Don’t try to lift the ball at impact. You are not the lifter of the ball, you are the swinger of the club. Again, let the iron do the work for you and lift the ball.

Callaway Diablo Octane Fairway Woods

Callaway Diablo Octane Fairway WoodsCallaway made their Diable Octane lineup of fairway woods to help the average golfer add distance to their longer golf shots. They wanted to do this without making them difficult to hit because the majority of players who buy their clubs have a mid to high handicap. Sure many pros do have Callaway in their bag but you will see far more golfers out on the local public course each weekend and these woods have to be playable by them.

The Diablo Octane fairway wood lineup consists of a 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9 to cover a majority of distances after the tee shot. They come in a standard and Tour configuration with the Standard models being designed for playability and enhanced distance and the Tour clubs for more workability as well as distance. The Tour woods are what a lower handicap or scratch golfer would want since they would be more likely to work the ball from far off the green.

New and Improved Design

Callaway incorporated three new features into this lineup to get the added distance without sacrificing control, even for the novice golfer. The first one is what they call aggressive VFT™ technology which essentially is a more precise variance in the internal thickness of each club. This will give you a bigger sweet spot and help generate more ball speed across the entire face.

How To Increase Your Golf Swing Speed

After you have played the game of golf for a while you will want to learn new tips to help you score better. One thing you will realize is if you can add distance to your shots, especially off the tee, without sacrificing accuracy you will lower your handicap. One of the ways to do this is to increase your golf swing speed. When you do this, the club head will travel faster and strike the ball with more force. This will cause the ball to launch farther and thus add yards to all of your shots.

However, as any golfer knows this is easier said than done. It takes the correct tips and techniques to accomplish this without causing miss-hits because you don’t want to spray the ball all over the course. It doesn’t take much to get the head offline at impact, and when this happens it is anybody’s guess as to where your shot will go. Here are a few helpful websites and videos to show you some golfing tips that can speed up your shot.

Ping G15 Fairway Woods

Ping G15 Fairway WoodPing is certainly one of the most widely known and respected golf club manufacturers anywhere in the world. They are found in many bags on both the professional tour as well as local courses frequented by amateur golfers. Obviously they produce high quality golf clubs or there wouldn’t be so much interest in them. Their G15 fairway woods are quite popular with amateur golfers as they are designed to inspire confidence by promoting extreme forgiveness on a variety of shots. Even if you miss-hit these clubs you will be able to advance the ball with authority, but how did they accomplish that?

The Head Design Is Forgiving

The Ping G15 fairway wood has an elongated face from toe to heel as well as a lower profile to increase forgiveness on a variety of shots. Their woods are engineered to give you reliable results from many different lies all over the course, including light rough. Some other brands of woods don’t work well on anything other than the fairway but Ping knows that you need a club to get you to the green from any conditions. While you shouldn’t try to swing them from thick rough they will work on shorter rough or uneven patches in the fairway.
